She Made It!

Aydia left the MTC at 9:15 am Monday morning and arrived in Cape Verde Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning.  While I am anxious to hear all about her adventures traveling and first impressions of Cape Verde, this is what we know for now.

Aydia ran into a familia face, my childhood friends, Mio and Dave Ballard. Mio sent me this amazing gift of a text and photo that she was doing well. So many little miracles this week. Aydia’s apostille that we have been waiting for for 8 weeks arrived Saturday before she left and in just enough time to get it up to the missionary travel office by Monday morning before she flew out. And our good friend, Dylan Christensen who works for Delta kept a close eye on her flights, weather conditions and all else that worried me and kept me updated on each of her travel legs. He also sent me a flight tracker so we kept an eye on that little airplane, crossing that big blue ocean for a solid 32 hours. Basically I consider this beautiful picture of her with her mission president and his wife, President and Sister Amo, my Christmas present this year.

The morning after she arrived on the main island, Santiago (Praia), she flew out to her new assignment on São Vicente, serving in Mindelo. I’ll put some fun facts about Mindelo on the side bar if you are interested.

We are so proud of our girl. And pray all day, every day for her safety and well-being.
