WEEK FOUR: What ya'll are waiting for!!

Just kidding, I'm sure you're waiting for lots of wonderful things, but here's something to add a couple laughs to your week! At least I hope :)

Honestly, I can't remember a lot of the week, but I'll try. So to start, can I just tell you how stressful P-days are? Well they are absolutely the busiest day of the week here, which is good, but mighty stressful. Haha sorry for the tangent, I just think it's hilarious that that's how it works. We had a TRC last Monday after I sent the group email and it was great! It's been getting a little bit easier to speak the language, especially in lesson form, but yep! We are learning and working hard!! And it's lovely!!

On Tuesday, we had our devotional, which was wonderful as always. A quote from Elder Yoon Hwan Choi of the Seventy has stuck with me all week: "If you don't like it, LIKE IT!" Especially pertaining missionary work. Also life. I was becoming a little bit impatient this week for whatever reason and needed a lot of humbling from what it looks like, and that phrase really helped me through the tricky spots. The last thing from that devotional that really got my attention and seriously brought the spirit so strongly into the room was Elder Choi's testimony. His son played his testimony on the piano in the form of the song "I know that my Redeemer Lives." The second he started to play, I felt like I was not in this world. The Spirit hit me so hard and I just started to uncontrollably sob. Happy tears, spiritual tears! And it was so powerful. Music is so great that way. Never underestimate the many, many different ways the Spirit can touch you.

Wednesday was ELLE MY SISTER'S BIRTHDAY!!!! Also, we had a super powerful lesson on the Atonement in class that day and it was so amazing. There wasn't a dry eye in the room, it was so incredible. A spiritual blast is what I'll so deem that experience.

Friday, stuff happened, can't remember, so sorry :)

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY?! CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT CONFERENCE?! Ok, wow. They had us write down questions that we needed answered, so I wrote a list of a couple of inquiries needing some good ol' fashioned answering, and let's just say the Lord was more than generous with His answers. It was so amazing!! One of my favorite quotes is from Elder Uchtdorf's talk. He said, "Discipleship isn't about doing things perfectly, it's about doing things INTENTIONALLY." That stuck out to me so much because I've always had the mindset that I need to do things here and everywhere PERFECTLY, and I only find myself getting down because I'll never be perfect. But when I do things intentionally, like study my scriptures and pray "every day, every day, every day," then I can work towards perfection. With the Lord's help, we can all eventually get there as we intentionally try to better ourselves and get closer to Him.

Last quick note: My district, District 13-D, is the best district to exist. Wow, it's so amazing how close you can get to people in a matter of a month, especially when you're spending almost every second of every day with them. We like to get creative, so after a long day of work and classes, we'll take 30 minutes before bed and play games. So far we've played Paranoia, lots of riddle games, Never have I ever, and we continue to characterize people. It's such a blast and it's something I like to call "raw fun," no phones, just people and their amazing stories, different backgrounds, and crazy awesome personalities. Our latest characterizations were Mario characters, church callings, singers, holidays, Christmas songs, and so many more. I got Daisy, Relief Society President, Whitney Houston/Regina Spektor, the Fourth of July, and All I Want for Christmas is You (The Mariah Carrey version). A little appalled by that one, but nevertheless, the district has spoken. They're a blast.

That's all folks! Love you all and thank you so much for your support! Have a wonderfully fun week and remember to strengthen your relationship with God in any way you can, it will change your life and you will never regret that decision to draw near to Him. LOVE YOU!!

Love Sister Melo

Pics!!
Studying, because that's how we do it :)
THE DISTRICT with some heaven-sent Krispy Kreme donuts from my sweet mom, bless her heart. She is lovingly referred to as Sister Mama Melo in our district now.
My comp again, she's adorable.
This is Elder Rollans with Sister Spencer's red "Confidence Glasses." They are some seriously rockin' glasses, I'm not sure you understand the magnitude of what you're seeing right now.
My typical journal writing, also a little look-see at my cute SISTER and I.
My companion studies harder than anyone I know, I'm not kidding! She was OUT, the sweet thing.

Ever wondered what it's like to live with four girl's in a room and not have a popcorn bowl?
ME AND MY DEAR COMP!! Blurry, but cute, what can you do?
Yeah, we passed our room inspection with flying colors, they even gave us a star :)
The grind. The study. The golden hour. The face of concentration. WOOT WOOT!!
