Week 13: Unlucky like the Number 13

Well you betcha, this week was a whole other level of difficult for this Sister out here. But truly, and as always, every cloud has a silver lining. There seems to be a pattern, hmmmm...

MISSION TOUR: We had mission tour on Tuesday, which is where missionaries from 3 of the other islands come to São Vicente to meet with our Mission Pres. and a guest speaker General Authority, who was Elder Defeo. He was really cool. Pretty much for 4 hours, he gave us the wicked awesome training how to be a more successful missionary. A little boost to finish out the year strong and head into 2020 with a spring in our step!! Then we ate lunch together, which was rice and stroganoff and vegetables, SO GOOD!! And then went on our merry way for the day!

The Injury: I said we went on our merry way, but it wasn't very merry. We had to go to the hospital for my cut from last week and a new one that I got when I took off my bandaid on Monday, and it tore off a little piece of my skin and got immediately infected. HOW?! So we went, and long story short, guess who had to get another shot in her back? And guess who is still, if not more so, terrified of needles? That's the second one in two months and WOW it was painful. Then they had to clean out both of them and they used death tweezers and some good old Cabo Verde force. And then they told me I had to stay at home for 4 days. I was devastated, but it turned out ok. We had THANKSGIVING DINNER of mashed potatoes, gravy, Frango (fried chicken), and stuffing. All, except the chicken, from a well timed package from my cute fam, BLESS THEIR HEARTS!!!

ÉRICA!! Érica was baptized on Saturday!!! I have 2 minutes to finish this email, but in short, MILAGRES SÃO REAIS!!! Miracles are real!!!

I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! Have the best week!!
