Week 16: It's a Wonderful Life!

I don't have a whole lot to say for this week. It was good, it was hard, and that's what makes life WONDERFUL!! Truly, miracles lace every day, every experience, every trial, EVERYTHING. And I get to be a recipient of these miracles every day. We all do! It seems especially poignant during this special and sacred time of year. Everything just hits a little harder, the Spirit and trials alike, but that's how it goes! But the Lord and His grace wins every time, the Savior and His sacrifice for us, his LOVE for us, his perfect understanding of each of us, "Oh, it is wonderful! Wonderful to me!"

Alex:
Alex is a 12 year old who is ROCKING IT!! We have seen him almost every day this week, read with him, took him to family night, and he's just awesome! Several times, his friends were with him and they just sat and read 1 Nephi with us and they loved it! Oh it's so awesome, seeing the impact that the gospel can have on people, all ages! He's great and we're hoping to get him baptized soon, I think he really wants it :)

Rafaela:
Another sweet girl we're teaching is Rafaela. She calls us her "amigas lindas" or her "beautiful friends" and has questions that are just awesome, and she just brings light to every room she walks in. When we met with her this week, she said our closing prayer and asked the Lord to comfort us while we were away from home and family during Christmas, definitely made me cry, love that sweet girl. She is so kind and we love talking with her. She's so eager to learn and is so selfless, looking out for others, including us Sisters.

Christmas in Cabo:
We've been able to see a couple of awesome Christmas parties/celebrations and WOW, I've been so blown away! It is hilarious!! They decorate so cute, and for the ward party, they had every quorum and class do a number, so the youth did like a waltz, the Relief Society danced like QUEENS to "Last Christmas," and the Young Men did a rap number, oh I died!! We were laughing so hard, it felt good to laugh. We sang at the stake activity yesterday, and that was sweet. I love these people here. They give their all, heart, soul, all of it!! I want to be like that one day.

Well, that's all for this girl! I'm so blessed to be here, even though I miss home so much. I have a sweet as can be companion, we have Christmas plans and we're so excited to go through this together. She's an angel, and we truly have angels carrying us and supporting us. I love you all so much. Hug your families a little tighter this Christmas, and hug mine for me if you see them! Remember the true and beautiful reason for Christmas, our dear Savior himself. Through him and because of  him, we can know true and everlasting JOY! Joy to the world!!

Feliz Natal!!
